Organic clothing: Treehugger updated a previous report of Eviana Hartman’s (of Bodkin) 13-piece collection for Hessnatur with look book images. Though the date the clothing will actually be available for purchase is unknown (sometime this fall), the look book will definitely keep your interest. Too often it seems organic clothing remains plain in an unstylish sort of way. It is quite exciting to see a totally organic line that remains simple but quite modern, definitely speaking more towards those fashion-aware. Quilted leggings, two-way shirt-skirts, boyfriend-fit sweaters with select ribbing, leather-jacket inspired wool coats, etc. all fully embrace a gorgeous monochromatic palette in Hartman’s collection.

Slightly less youth-baggy modern looking, People Tree is another great site where the more mom-friendly clothing can be found in nice prints, although if you are willing to tread through the site you might still find some intriguing pieces shape-wise. Here are some favorites in for both looks…

The most popular youthful styles can be found from Threads for Thought, run by two wonderful people Eric and Leigh Fleet. The couple started the company while still in college and have successfully developed their brand into a 100% sustainable, earth-friendly clothing company. Both men and women clothing can be found here for notably reasonable prices. Here are some examples of what you can find on the site…

Covet is a brand similar to the Hartman for Hessnatur collection with its sense of modern fits. It can be found online and in-stores through various stockists. Though Covet is definitely more expensive their clothing will last you forever. Upon my move from Atlanta to Chicago in January 2008 I purchased a Covet winter coat from Eurotrash, a great boutique and Covet stockist in Richmond, VA. This coat is not only incredibly comfortable, like being wrapped your old-school childhood jersey comforter, it is seriously warm and keeps the wind out no matter what- I have lived in this coat for three Chicago winters now and am always toasty. Also, it’s pretty awesome to being the only one on the el not on a NorthFace black arctic parka.

For those concerned purely with comfort, Alternative Earth makes the softest and also wonderfully cozy lounge clothing. I also own one of their sweatshirts and it is by far my absolute favorite I’ve ever owned. Again, excellent quality and long-lasting.
