Thanks for these great suggestions! I have a few additional ideas:
--This idea may not be feasible for all offices, but if there's an outdoor space an office can have a compost bin for organic waste. Or, for an indoor space you can have a worm bin. This takes some maintenance but it can help an office to be waste-free.

--When using planning meetings and events, use caterers that implement environmentally-friendly practices, such as using local and organic food and not using disposables. This is a positive thing for your office and can also send a great message to guests at your meetings and events.

--If employees are driving to work because they have to leave the office for external meetings and must drive there, consider getting a business membership to a carshare program and letting employees use the cars when necessary. That way they can take public transportation or walk to work and still have a car available if needed.

Thanks also for the list of freebies in Chicago and the information about the Green Career Fair.
