Wow, wish we had so many green events where I live (rural SE Indiana). We're struggling with becoming greener and there's so little out here to help - the internet is truly a godsend! We've already been composting for our veggie garden and flower beds, raise free range chickens for eggs and meat, have converted to CFL bulbs - thanks to our rural electric co-op that has a program this year where for every old-type light bulb you bring in they give you a CFL!

We've eliminated the use of plastic shopping bags, we either bring our own cloth bags or use paper bags which can be composted. We also hope to be able to afford to upgrade our furnace this year and also purchase a heat pump. Wish us luck!
