May 14th- The Urgent Evolution: From Green Buildings to Sustainable Urbanism
With the launch of his groundbreaking book, Sustainable Design: Urban Design With Nature in November 2007, Doug Farr, one of Chicago’s leading green architects and urban planners, issued a challenge: end urban sprawl by 2030. Can we do it? Why should we? What will it take? This month, Doug joins an expert panel as we explore the necessity of looking beyond green buidlings to the larger systems in which they exist should we truly desire to create more sustainable and livable cities.

Bring in your used clothes and eyeglasses to be reused by the Lion’s Club and the Salvation Army and receive a green gift, available while supplies last.
