5 of the Greenest Hotels in the World
The current state of the world dictates that we need to be more conscious about how we treat it, which is why these eco hotels should be at the top of any list when you decide to travel…

Ayana Resort and Spa in Bali
This green minded hotel has been awarded for its commitment to sustainability. It uses eco-friendly detergents and products, recycles water, utilises energy conservation management and also boasts composting programs to ensure their carbon footprint is reduced. They’ve proven that without having to sacrifice comfort, you can still take positive steps to ensure your practices benefit all.
Three Camel Lodge in Mongolia
Adventurous travellers concerned with green living will love this rustic gem in the heart of the Gobi Desert. Committed to conservation, they offer locally produced toiletries, use solar power and wind energy, are the only camp in the area to employ recycling practices and are also looking into ways to reuse water for gardening and toilet use. The waste from the lodge goes to local farms to use as fertiliser and also supports greenhouse projects.
Swiss Hotel Vegan in Switzerland
Set on the shore of one of the largest lakes in Europe, this completely green hotel is also completely vegan, which means it kicks the butt of most other eco hotels out there just by principle. Started by a doctor committed to the abolition of animal cruelty a few years ago, you can stay in this place and be sure that your carbon footprint is reduced to almost nothing at all thanks to the food alone. Be aware of rabid vegans, who will literally froth at the mouth over the menu, which includes dishes like cordon bleu and ravioli, among others, and an array of sublime desserts.
Hotel La Residenza in Milan
Technologically savvy but also eco-friendly certified, this hotel is not only in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, it’s also designed to be kind to the environment. Look forward to ionized air, energy saving lighting systems, recycled brochures, eco-friendly toiletries and more. It also allows small pets to stay, and offers an array of vegetarian meals to guests.
The Shire Eco Lodge in South Africa
Located in the Eastern Cape, this captivating lodge can be found in a lush forest setting. Not only is the lodge perfectly integrated into the surrounding landscape, it will also inspire and rejuvenate the weariest of travellers. They’ve got an indigenous nursery, offer organic food with home grown ingredients and endeavour to preserve the beautiful local wildlife.

I definitely will visit some of places or at least put them in my to-do-list. Also the hotels in the big metropolitans should consider the idea of becoming more eco friendly.
